About this image: The same strange, sourceless light of the first Bodega Bay image, now seen from a greater distance and slightly above — the curve of the shoreline, cliffs, and sea occupying just the bottom quarter of the frame. The water is an uncertain color, neither the deep blue of an open sea nor anything easily named. The bay recedes into haze, the cliffs reduced to a delicate arc at the edge of an enormous, quietly unsettling atmosphere.
