About this image: A luminous orange sphere fills the upper half of the frame, its reflection pooling below on a reflective surface — the two halves separated by a ring of dark. The color feels spent and cooling rather than vivid and burning, the orange shifting toward something dimmer and more elegiac. A dwarf star at the end of its radiance, beautiful in its fading.
