About this image: A dark, foreboding structure of black and blue steel slats — no windows, no doors, no invitation — fills the frame at a low three-quarter angle. The front face glows deep indigo, the other side receding into near total darkness. Above, a deep blue-violet sky churns with turbulent clouds. Named for Daphnis, the Sicilian shepherd whose unrequited love brought him to ruin.
